Hello! My name is Ensephany Estrada. I usually like going by my first name but i also go by Ensy. So feel free to call me by whichever. If your not sure you are saying it right just ask (: I am currently a 22 year old junior at SDSU.  I wish i was already done with school but life happens and we can get into that story at another time.

I am a Spanish major in hopes to become a teacher. I absolutely love kids. They are adorable to be around and have such a unique way of thinking. I currently work at the YMCA taking care of parents kids while they work out. Ages ranging from infants from as young as 6 weeks old to 12 year old kids. There's good days and bad days but i enjoy working there and I am learning more about kids.

I come from a big family. Depending on what you define as big. My Dad has 5 brothers and 3 sisters. My Momma has 3 brothers and 1 sister. I am the oldest and have two younger sisters and several friends who call my parents mom and dad. My parents got married young and had me in their early 20's. That did not stop my mom from going back to school. She also attended SDSU and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Psychology. Going to school full time with three daughters under the age of 7, a husband, house, dogs etc. I admire my mom in many ways and is someone who constantly supports me and keeps me going.

I have four dogs. Yeah i know, its crazy four dogs. I was born and raised in this beautiful city of San Diego. I'm not sure if I would ever move to another city but i definitely want to travel. So if you have any suggestions i would appreciate it. i have always wanted to go to Bora Bora. It looks beautiful.

I love watching movies. i wont watch scary moves though i cant handle. it gives me anxiety knowing something might pop out at any moment and leave me paranoid for a week. I like to read. I read the Harry Potter series complete. More then once. I wish i could read the series for the first time. J.K. Rowling is a genius and it blows my mind how detailed and creative she is. If you haven't read the series i definitely recommend it.

I love to talk and getting to know new people but hate talking in front of people. i get really nervous. Writing a blog is very new to me. So i hope this didn't totally suck and that i get better at. Ill try to be a bit more artsy next time and so dull without pictures and that other cool stuff. Look forward to getting to know you guys throughout this semester!

  1. Hey Ensephany, I think its awesome that you want to become a teacher! My dad teaches and absolutely loves what he does, as so much reward comes from helping young children learn and grow. Personally, I have never been great with little kids as it can be hard for me to match their enthusiasm and energy. I guess that's why I'm an accounting major... Anyway, throughout middle school and high school, Spanish was always one of my weaker subjects because I did not feel like my instructors were teaching the material effectively. So I know bits and pieces of Spanish, but I definitely wish I knew more. As for your thoughts about public speaking, its totally normal to get nervous when talking in front of people. Here's the way I look at it: If anybody else in this room were up here instead of me, they would be nervous too. My audience understands that public speaking is daunting, and they aren't going to care if I don't deliver my speech perfectly. Everybody stumbles over their words sometimes, forgets a part of their speech, talks to fast, etc. You just need to have confidence that you won't be judged and know that being a bit nervous is totally normal. And then just take a deep breath and get up there and talk. Lastly, don't worry about the simple blog layout, mine looks just as dull!
